Partners of the Czech Tilers Guild support the Czech „Tilers’ hopeful“ at EuroSkills

27 April 2021, all the participating parties of the Czech tiling team, which will represent the Czech Republic in Graz, Austria, at the EuroSkills Europe competition, gathered in Pilsen. The aim of the meeting is the preparation of the schedule and scenario for training a young tiler for a competition which has a worldwide reputation.
From the winners of the “Tilers’ hopeful” competition, David Voráček, a Horní Bříza High School-graduate, David Voráček, was chosen. He will go to Graz this year to represent golden Czech hands. He is preparing for the competition under the supervision of a professional tiler, a member of the board of directors of the Czech Tilers Guild, Mr. Martin Lukeš. Individual technical training will take place in the LASSELSBERGER plant’s premises in Horní Bříza and it will be performed with tiling materials from the company RAKO and construction chemicals from the company MUREXIN.
“The RAKO and MUREXIN materials are used for the Graz competition, so it is great that David is going to try out these materials during training already,” said Roman Pommer – chairman of the Czech Tilers Guild, who is an official delegate for the CZECH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, speaking as the vice-president.
“For the preparation, the competing team further gets from the partners RAKO and MUREXIN both financial support, and ceramic tiles, construction chemicals, professional tools, clothing and other equipment,” Petr Machoň, marketing director of LASSELSBERGER, adds. “Our mutual goal is long-term support of the tiling profession and the Tilers Guild, because our tiles cannot be laid without dexterous tilers and their skilful hands”.
Almost 450 young, fully qualified craftsmen from 45 different professions are gathering this year in one place. In Graz, Austria, at the EuroSkills Europe competition. After 12 years, 4 competitors from the Czech Republic are going to participate. The competitors will be one tiler, a painter, a refrigeration expert and one heavy machines serviceman. The Czech Chamber of Commerce secures the attendance of all these competitors, and tries to extend the team of another professions – crafts.
