Place of use: Administrative building, School
The last year completed building of NTIS - New Technologies for Information Society represent a new facility for research workers in Pilsen. Researcher workers, focusing on cybernetics, information technology, communication technology experts, and mechanics specialists, work at the workplaces and laboratories of this building. RAKO ceramic wall and floor tiles provide the required resistance to highly loaded floors in the corridors and the foyer. 12,000 square metres of tiles were used in this building; they would cover 3 soccer fields. With respect to the planned significant colour scheme of wall paintings, neutral tones were selected from the Trend, Cemento, and Rock floor tiles, as well as the Porto wall tiles. In addition, wall and floor tiles also incorporate the complete system of RAKO SYSTEM building chemistry. The special feature of this project is the rounded shape of the main foyer. Prior to laying, this fact required a specific measurement and associated non-standard laying.
