The pool in Lochotín has been renovated with RAKO tiles
The newly renovated swimming pool in Plzeň, Lochotín, Czech Republic, with its modern, friendly wellness centre, is an oasis for body and soul. The selection of RAKO ceramic tiles was adapted to fit this profile. The industrial concrete trowel design Cemento series, in addition to the large-format version of 30 x 60 cm, together with mosaics and RAKO SYSTEM building chemistry, made it possible to make this vision come to life.
The Swietelsky company managed to renovate all the surfaces, the pool walkways and the nearby areas in 4 months. "The company had to deal with technically demanding details such as smooth connection of drain pipes, replacement of gutters, etc. The tiles were installed and the surfaces insulated using RAKO SYSTEM construction chemicals, where the system solution is fully comparable to other offerings on the market," adds construction manager Martin Košt'ál from Swietelsky. In addition to the 30 x 60 cm tiles from the Cemento series with R11/C slip resistance, mosaics were used on the surface to form benches and POOL gutters to facilitate water drainage.
The Lochotín swimming centre offers a swimming pool with six lanes measuring 25 x 12.5 m and a children's pool measuring 12 x 8 m. Both of them are widely used by primary and kindergarten schools, swimming schools of the Slávia VŠ Plzeň swimming club, and infant swimming is also popular. Since 2015, there is an outdoor area (outdoor pool measuring 16.6 x 8.15 m – 0.9 to 1.3 m deep) and a kiddie pool with play elements. In addition to swimming, you can use the sauna and exercise equipment in two halls.
Mr Martin Kokrda, head of the pool operation, revealed that there will be even more coming up.
"A design study for a new teaching pool took place this year. However, I am pleased to be part of these renovations, which increase the comfort of the Lochotín pool as well as its visitor count."
