It was not until 21 years, that Bára definitely opted for javelin. Up until that time, she devoted herself to combined events. It is possible to say, that she with her boyfriend let the decision mature, where and what house to build and how to furnish it.
„We both are precise, a bit conservative and přimarily, we hate reconstructing anything. We think everthing through and it pays off.“ They were discussing the features of the two-storey house with a partial cellar with an architect for one year. This house has not only four rooms but also two bathrooms or a gym. „The cleaning of a large house is easier. A one-bedroom apartment is worse. We think about where to store things, what to avoid. Here, we did not have to make compromises. It was about a practical solution, we discussed some things with our friends. Lukáš is strongly practical, I rather follow my emotions“, Bará comments.
We stayed home
Windows, doors, custom-made kitchen units, wooden floor by the company Dvořák from Jablonec or ceramic tiles – for the most part, Bára gave thumbs-up to Czech products and companies. „I am not a fan of needlessly importing things from abroad. We hired local craftsmen,“ she reminds. Spending their time often with friends, Bára and Lukáš bought a large table, where 10 people can fit.
In the basement under the garage, the built a party-room. This is what they call a room with a bar and a separate sauna. „There is no noise and I do not have to clean up right away, as in case we were upstairs in the living-room,“ Bára relishes. She chose a much more rustic style compared to the first and second floor. Nevertheless, even in the basement, there are some elements similar to the rooms upstairs – for example a brick-like tiling also used on the facade and the bar. The coulple chose the ceramic tiles in conformity with the principle, that domestic brands are preferred. Bára and Lukáš contacted the traditional tile producer RAKO, who prepared a tiling plan. The product line Siena imitates a bricky-red terracotta floor in the bar and stairs, a distinctive retro collection decorated the walls of sauna and the bathroom of the basement. „Deco with various color decorations enthused us,“ Bára says about the line, inspired by old unique decorations from the RAKO archive.
